Practice, Practice, Practice

Every year, for about the past ten, our church hosts a dinner theater called 'Christmas At Our House'. We host a dinner and then put on a play that has a theme of Christ, the whole meaning of Christmas, though not always a play with the stable scene. Well this year I was chosen to be part of the cast again, we're putting on the play "Christmas in Cricket County" (or something along those lines)...and we are having practices like crazy. Well, maybe just twice a week so far...but with church and work it seems like a lot. It's been fun though, some of the mistakes you make (or the others) are hilarious...mainly the ones others make are funnier than your own. We're going six nights this year...usually we only go four...but it's gotten so big that we had to add two more nights, and we're already sold out (with about 250 each night). It's going to be CRAZY!! But a blast...our whole church is involved. We all look forward to it and it's a lot of fun getting to spend time working together to put the whole thing on...and the people love us (woo-hoo!). The play is the first full week of Christmas (Dec 5-10), and we don't have a stage yet...so it's a little difficult to practice and get the feel of it all. But West Point being West Point, we'll pull it off like we do every year and it will all work out. (Though I may be strung out on No-Do's and Bawls/Red Bull...it will be worth it). -- grin --
